A New Mexico based music guy who wears a lot of hats, I’m a music producer/arranger/composer, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, and a voiceover artist. I am an ASCAP songwriter, a member of the Grammy Academy, and a past member of the Gospel Music Association.
I was born in Albuquerque, but I grew up in Dallas, and then spent several years in Colorado before I returned to my native ABQ. It was in Dallas that I began my musical journey, starting with the piano at age 5. I attended the world-renowned Arts Magnet High School at Booker T. Washington, and then moved on to the University of North Texas.
I’ve been involved in the recording industry since the 1980s, and I’ve performed all across the country. I performed with several bands, and worked as a session musician and vocalists throughout north Texas. For several years I was the musical director for Ad-Libs – an award-winning improv comedy troupe based in Dallas. I’ve written everything from short jingles to a full-length Christmas musical.
Currently, I am playing with Missing Mandy, an off-shoot of the legendary hONEyhoUSe – and I show up occasionally at blues jams and as a sub in the ABQ music scene. I’m also beginning an independent project with my wife, Janet (a talented musician in her own right). Look for more info about that soon!
In addition to my musical and voice acting pursuits, I recently completed my MA in Philosophy at UNM. I’m a fairly prolific writer – I’ve published works of fiction, humor & comedy, and academia… and someday I may finish one of the six novels I’ve begun. I live with my wife and our pups (who also have beautiful howling voices) near Old Town.
